Quiz Clothing Picks

1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Now that Spring is on it's way (though you wouldn't know it this week, thanks to the freezing temperatures), the addition of a bit more colour into your wardrobe is an essential wouldn't you say? Personally, when it first starts to get warmer I like to still keep things quite neutral (you won't tear me away from my trusty black skinny jeans just yet) and instead prefer to add the odd "pop" of colour through the use of accessories or in some cases, a statement piece like the cropped top I've picked in the outfit I've put together here.

I fell completely in love with these boots too - very similar to the infamous Topshop Allegras would't you say? Chances are I'll be picking them up as soon as payday arrives this month. Quiz really do have some lovely pieces - they're a brand that until now I had paid little attention to, but would definitely recommend checking them out if you're in the market for some pretty new pieces for the upcoming months whilst also, not wanting to break the bank!

Hope you're all having a fab day. I'm currently sat in the office on my lunch break, warming my hands on the giant mug of tea I have in front of me! When will this Siberian weather end? One more two hour commute in minus temperatures and I'll cry!***

"If You Don't Let Us Dream" + Damien Maloney!

I  haven't posted anything "lifestyle" based for ages now, so thought I'd put that right and include a few snaps from the amazing weekend I've just had. Unfortunately I can't take credit for the photography (once again I neglected to charge my camera) and so I've managed to nab a few pictures that my lovely friend Laura took whilst we were gallivanting around.

On Friday we went for cocktails and tapas at what is one of my favourite chain restaurants - Las Iguanas. Then on Saturday morning we travelled down to London where we went to watch the new Anders Lustgarten play "If You Don't Let Us Dream", after which we spent the rest of the day shopping for Mother's Day presents.

The play was fantastic - I won't go into too much detail as it's not for everyone what with it being very much politically focussed, but needless to say - I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even better was the fact that Laura and I got to meet some of the cast members afterwards. In particular, the gorgeous man that is Damien Maloney (star of Being Human and pictured above with a beaming Laura), who was utterly charming. It really did make our day! :)

It really was such a fabulous weekend, topped off with a Sunday full of spoiling my amazing Mum rotten. I'd gone to the trouble on Saturday of stopping in at the"Wild at Heart" florists inside Liberty to get her a special bouquet which she loved. The flowers there were so beautiful, I just had to include a few pics - the tangerine coloured roses were my absolute fave!

Going to make it my mission to blog more of these kind of posts from now on as they are by far the most enjoyable to write! :) Hope everyone else had a nice weekend too. What did you all do to treat your lovely Mummy's to?

NUDE 'Miracle Mask' Review

My latest weakness when it comes to treating myself has been to indulge in a few little skincare luxuries every now and again. Sunday evenings mean only one thing in my book and that's relaxation - bubbly bath and  a giant pamper sesh in preparation for a hard weak ahead. And as far as I'm concerned, nothing makes me feel more pampered than a face mask. One of my favourite things to do is to have a soak, put one on and lie there whilst it does it's magic - normally catching up on YouTube vids and my favourite blogger's posts from the previous week. Bliss!

Anyway, onto the product. I had first seen the Nude Miracle Mask raved about by the lovely Kate (Ghostparties) who always seems to have the most radiant looking flawless skin - and so I thought right, I need to give this a go - hoping that the 'miracle' name really would live up to the hype. The only thing that put me off slightly to begin with was the price tag. "Thirty eight pounds for a face mask, think of the lipstick you could get for that" I kept saying to myself. However, I eventually gave in (persuaded by the £5 voucher I was sent for my birthday from Feel Unique a couple of weeks back) and snapped it up.

I wasn't disappointed. Exfoliating my skin is, I find, the most satisfying part of the skincare routine - the feeling afterwards of it being super smooth and knowing that it is free of any old dead cells leaves me feeling so renewed and refreshed. With the miracle mask - I get this sense of satisfaction, but along with it I feel like my skin has an extra glow to it - it feels brighter and more awake, "plumped" and as though it has really benefited. Another thing that makes me think this, is the fact that for the five minutes I leave it on for, I can really feel it getting to work - experiencing a tingling sensation (not uncomfortable, though it may be for people with particularly sensitive skin) which makes me think it's really doing some good.

I would definitely re-purchase as I think it has made a noticeable difference to my skin having only used it a handful of times. The price tag is a little steep, though the fact that the product itself contains a mixture of natural AHA's and rice beads to achieve what it does and contains to "nasties" definitely makes me feel that it's worth it. It is a product that I look forward to using each time I reach for it and one that is now definitely a firm favourite within my skincare regime.

Has any one else tried this mask - if so, what were your thoughts? I'd also really love to receive any other NUDE skincare recommendations as it is a brand I have yet to explore but that I have heard plenty of good things about! :)

Macadamia Hot Curling Brush & Healing Oil Treatment

I have been a fan of the Macadamia haircare range ever since trying their deep repair masque a few months back. I picked it up from TK Maxx after seeing 'Miss Glamorazzi' mention it in one of her videos saying it had made a big difference to her hair, and as it was there for less than half price I decided to try it out. There was a noticeable difference after just one use and after being so impressed I resolved to try more products within the range.

This being the case - when I was asked a couple of weeks ago if I would like to try out one of the new Macadamia "Hot Curling Brushes" I jumped at the chance to do so - hoping to be equally dazzled by the results. Once it arrived, I was also pleasantly surprised to see that a sample of the "Healing Oil Treatment" had been included for me to try - something I had heard a lot of good things about and was equally excited to give a whirl.

First off - the brush. Now I'm tough to please when it comes to this kind of thing - I'm pretty loyal to my beloved tangle teaser, and as I tend to wear my hair in a tousled, messy, 'I've just rolled out of bed' kind of way most of the time, it doesn't take much styling. However, I've had to make more of an effort lately to look a bit sleeker in my new job and this has done a fabulous job in helping me to do so.

The bristles are super soft unlike the majority of cheap curling brushes you may find yourself picking up from the drugstore on a whim - which to me makes it worth the extra money straight away. There is nothing worse than a brush that feels like it is scratching your scalp and causing more damage than good - this avoids such  instances entirely though and thanks to the lovely quality of the bristles, it manages to grip your hair much better than any of the brushes I have tried previously, making it much easier to style. All in all, a really lovely quality brush that I feel I can definitely recommend.

Now onto the "Healing Oil Treatment" - the first thing I noticed before I even applied it was how amazing it smelt - this in itself would probably be enough to convince me to buy it if I'm honest. After using it though I was even happier with what I found. You only need the smallest amount to get it to work - massaging it into the ends of your towel dried hair and voilĂ ! The ends of my hair were left shiny and feeling luscious. It made a noticeable difference throughout the day too - as normally after a twelve hour day at work the frizz starts working it's way in. In this case though, my hair stayed looking sleek all day and there was no sign of grease as I sometimes find to be the case with products like this.

I have yet to try the infamous Moroccan Oil but I can tell you now that I will be extremely impressed if it can achieve results anywhere near as good as this. In fact, I've put in an order from Feel Unique this week so that I can get a true comparison!

I'd be really interested to know what people's favourite hair oils are and whether or not you've tried any of the Macadamia products?

Hope you're all well :) Still not posting quite as often as I'd like - looking to get my little blog a mini makeover in the next week or so though in the hope that it'll work as motivation!
TTFN anyway!
